The facts you CANNOT afford to ignore...
- Cumulative global spending will top $20 billion in the next nine years and U.S. utilities alone will spend nearly $100 per home in grid operations and consumer-related analytics [GTM Research]
- It's expected for utility analytics to find an easier pathway to adoption by virtue of its remarkable return on investment (ROI)
- More than half of all utilities are "challenged with immature business intelligence/ analytics capabilities." Ninety-one percent of those surveyed indicated their utilities are planning BI/ Analytics projects in the next year or two [Bridge Energy]
- Only 46% of utilities have a meter data management system (MDMS) in place
- An estimated $8.2 billion to be spent on analytics in the U.S. between now and 2020
- IBM launched a Smarter Energy Research Institute as a collaborative model between different utilities to use data for analytics that are both predictive and prescriptive - focusing on analytics outages and grid optimization
I thought the conference was very good – well organized and managed, great content and a great venue. Please have more events! |
